Latest report suggests recommendations for improving adoption services for adults
We are pleased to share new national practice guidance developed as part of the Improving Adoption Services for Adults project, delivered in collaboration with the University of East Anglia.
The project focused on improving services for adults affected by adoption — including adopted people, their birth family members, and others connected to them. It comes in response to growing concerns around the availability and quality of services such as access to records and intermediary support.
Through engagement with people with lived experience and professionals from across the sector, the project identified common issues, priorities for change, and examples of good practice.
This new guidance is intended to help professionals navigate the complexities of post-adoption support and ensure that services are more consistent, compassionate and effective.
